Influenza A/H1N1 continuity plan PDF Print E-mail

Biozone Europe sells devices which contribute to personal protection against infection from influenza viruses caught through direct transmission.

The technology used (oxygen cold plasma) is not intended to be a substitute for measures for vigilance and care as set out in national guidelines to combat the threat of a flu pandemic. It is intended as a complementary measure to make the air and surfaces safe in areas where patients are treated, so as to guarantee safety for people exposed to a source of influenza.

In order to confirm the qualities of these products, Biozone Europe is spearheading research to be published jointly with major European laboratories. The CNRS in Lyon has demonstrated that Biozone technology destroyed the avian flu virus:

The FRE CNRS 3011 virology and human pathology laboratory at the RTH Laennec Faculty of Medecine in Lyon, ref: DE084-2007, proved that Biozone technology destroyed the H5 avian flu virus used in the test, achieving up to 5.7 log reductions (99.9998%) in under 0.44 seconds.

Biozone Europe devices were then adapted to suit various settings, such as offices, industrial premises, patient rooms, continuous operation devices, on-board ambulance devices, etc.

Biozone Europe already looks after sanitary care in a number of healthcare establishments (e.g. Paris Hospitals), SDIS – Fire Service, private clinics, airports (Ajaccio, Clermont Ferrand, and others) and institutions such as the Banque de France and the Paris police headquarters.

Business Continuity Plan

On top of the measures taken as part of the BCP (Business Continuity Plan), which recommend washing hands, wearing surgical masks and FFP2 masks, areas that employees are likely to share may be difficult to be made safe, and represent a potentially significant risk of contamination, given the large number of people involved. This is particularly true of break rooms, cloakrooms, food and catering areas, meeting rooms, reception halls, etc.

The installation of Biozone devices in these areas is a valuable addition to staff safety.

A number of tests have been carried out with performances similar to those done for the avian flu virus. Among them is the test for influenza, E. Coli and even RSV (the virus responsible for child bronchiolitis). These results enable us to target our equipment to make crèches safer - a strategic choice to preserve the health of all our children.

Because quality of life also depends on the quality of the air we all breathe every day, Biozone Europe has developed a whole range of devices that can be adapted to suit the desired location and level of protection.

For companies and highly frequented areas, Biozone Europe creates a biologically protected space that scientists have called a "BIO ZONE".

National Safety Guidelines

In order to slow down the progress of any pandemic, Biozone Europe has identified strategic targets suited to adaptable devices for each intended location.

Doctors and healthcare professionals

Installation in all waiting rooms and in medical practice rooms - continuous operation devices.

Ambulance, fire brigade and military vehicles

Installation of a fixed continuous operation device (AIRCARE) in each vehicle.

Installation of continuous decontamination units in cloakrooms.

Safety for strategic centres, call centres, crisis meeting rooms, etc. (Installation of fixed continuous operation equipment).

Installation of mobile decontamination devices with usage directions and traceability of usage for other rooms. (Powerzone ).

Heathcare establishments

Integration of fixed continuous operation equipment in emergency services departments:

  • Reception vestibule
  • Cubicle
  • Examination room
  • Treatment room
  • Admissions room

Installation of mobile decontamination devices with usage directions and traceability of usage. (Powerzone).

Integration in the "Avian Flu Pandemic" contingency plan for making the air environment safe.

Acquisition of a certain number of mobile devices for individual rooms.

Ministries, Regional Authorities, Departmental Social Services Department (DDASS), Regional Social Services Department (DRASS).

Draw up a list of premises, taking note of their surface areas, air renewal rates and aerology. Install the equipment needed to make strategic areas safe.

Implementation of continuous operation Biozone in their premises.

For other premises, installation of mobile decontamination devices with usage directions and traceability of usage. (Powerzone).

Strategic Centres

For facilities in constant use (including some research laboratories), keeping units in place depends on securing specific facilities with protective environmental measures:

Securing of offices with continuous operation Biozones.

Creation of a "quarantine room" (separate room where the upright unit is kept for the standard incubation period).

Creation of decontamination vestibules at all company entrance points.

Biozone installation for the transportation of protective equipment and health products, shops, etc.)

Production and transportation of energy: securing the supply of priority transports; domestic fuel supply for accommodation heating.

Food supply: securing public supply methods, particularly via shops and distribution platforms;

Securing the environment for the continued operation of drinking water production and distribution facilities.
